American Made Shutters

ShutterLand shutters are entirely made in the United States of America. All of our exterior shutters are constructed in the USA from woods harvested in America. We do not import components or fully assembled panels from other countries, which is very common in the industry.

Why is this important?

Control

Ordering from an American company with their manufacturing in America allows for more control for the end customer. ShutterLand has full authority over all shutters we manufacture. Companies that outsource shutter production to other countries (such as China or Mexico) suffer disconnect between administration and manufacturing. Often, pre-made panels are constructed overseas, imported, stored in a warehouse, then trimmed to size after an order is received, resulting in inconsistent component sizes.

Staff

The ShutterLand customer support staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and available to discuss your specific situation. You may discover shutters produced off-shore may have limited support, a call center that is not located in the United States, or disinterested individuals.

Time

Shutters made in the United States can be made-to-order, and shipped directly to your door in a timely manner. Shutters from foreign nations must be fabricated with standard stock features, shipped, and stored in an American facility. Shutters that may arrive failing to meet customer expectation (i.e. shipping damage) can be quickly repaired or replaced by United States companies.

Cost

The majority of the cost of a shutter obtained from international sources is transportation. Manufacturing is outsourced because labor and materials are cheaper than in the United States. So, the product a minority of what you pay. Even with shipping costs, foreign shutters can often be sold at a price point slightly lower than shutters made in the USA.

American products will not contain lead or any other hazardous ingredient.
